Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers among women, but the care
the experts at Saint Clare’s deliver to those with breast cancer
is anything but ordinary. We provide women facing a breast cancer diagnosis
the most comprehensive and state-of-the-art advances in cancer care –
but our work doesn’t end there. We also deliver personalized guidance
and emotional support to ensure we treat the entire patient, not just
Our team of breast cancer specialists, which includes pathologists, radiologists,
medical oncologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists and support professionals
is constantly growing. Saint Clare’s oncology staff pools their
knowledge and expertise in regular breast tumor board meetings where they
discuss the latest treatment protocols and consult on difficult cases.
While our doctors work together to devise personalized treatment plans,
a dedicated oncology nurse navigator is available every step of the way
to provide patients and their families with the critical emotional and
educational resources they may need.
Screening and Diagnosis: Saint Clare’s offers a full spectrum of breast cancer screening and
diagnostic services designed to detect cancer at its earliest, most treatable
stages. Saint Clare's provides a fully accredited mammography program.
Licensed technologists perform low-dose traditional mammograms, digital
mammography, and diagnostic ultrasounds. All results are read by board-certified
radiologists, with experience and special training in interpreting mammograms
and breast ultrasounds. Ultrasound-guided and stereotactic breast biopsy
is available for suspicious lumps.
Treatment: Saint Clare’s cancer care team works with each patient to help them
navigate diagnosis, treatment, and after care. An individualized course
of treatment may entail one or more of the following: chemotherapy, hormonal
therapy, radiation therapy, breast surgery (including reconstructive surgery),
and complementary healing therapies.
Health and Wellbeing: In addition to traditional medicine, Saint Clare’s offers nutritional
counseling, genetic counseling, community outreach and education programs,
and other programs to help cancer patients and their families cope with
the physical, emotional, and psychological challenges posed by breast
cancer. More information about these programs can be found on our
