Clinical Trials
Saint Clare’s Health System and Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC) formed a partnership between their cancer programs that will bring state-of-the-art cancer care to the Saint Clare’s community. Through this affiliation, Saint Clare’s now provides an enhanced level of cancer care through collaboration in cancer diagnostics, treatment, clinical trials, and cancer management.
The John Theurer Cancer Center at HUMC comprises 14 specialized divisions, featuring teams of experts for each specific type of cancer. Each of the divisions is directed by a physician with significant clinical and research expertise in the type of cancer. The Center’s Division of Research, which integrates all of the medical center’s oncology research into a centralized effort, offers the Saint Clare’s community access to clinical trials that are currently spearheaded by HUMC doctors.
The John Theurer Cancer Center participates in more than 100 international and national cancer clinical trials that give patients access to promising investigational medications, treatment protocols, and surgical techniques that are often not available at other facilities in New Jersey. Combined, the two health systems will now provide oncology care for an area that stretches from Hackensack all the way across New Jersey to Pennsylvania.
