Saint Clare’s Health Unveils New Emergency Medical Services Dispatch Center
- State-of-the-art facility to speed response times and enhance pre-hospital care -
(Dover, New Jersey, June, 1, 2017) – Saint Clare’s Health today unveiled its new Emergency Medical Services
(EMS) dispatch center, designed to improve emergency scene management,
use resources more efficiently, and speed emergency response times.
“The populations in Morris, Sussex, and Warren counties are growing
and with that comes an increase in emergency call volume,” said
John Cronin, EMS dispatch center coordinator at Saint Clare’s Health.
“This new dispatch center represents a critical step in advancing
our emergency communication and coordination strategies. We know this
is going to have a positive impact on pre-hospital care for the communities
we serve.”
The dispatch center is the EMS department’s latest expansion, following
the purchase of a brand new ambulance fleet, which now boasts more than
30 basic life support (BLS) and advanced life support (ALS) vehicles.
“Saint Clare’s continues to invest in life-saving technology
and services,” said Vito Cicchetti, director of EMS at Saint Clare’s
Health. “With the support of our parent company Prime Healthcare
Services, we are excited to see this project come to life.”
The dispatch center is headquartered inside Saint Clare’s Dover Hospital.
The state-of-the-art facility is equipped with new computer aided dispatch
(CAD) software, which communicates with software inside Saint Clare’s
ambulances.
The software allows Saint Clare’s dispatchers and first responders
to see, respond to, and update information in real time. A sophisticated
mapping system is supported by live-routing and streaming technology,
which gives dispatchers the ability to visualize and track the status
of each ambulance before, during, and after transport.
“This tool is going to streamline how we communicate with our fleet
and allow us to make faster, smarter decisions,” said Cronin. “In
a field where every second counts, this is a time-saving solution that
we believe is going to lead to better outcomes.”
