Aram E. Jawed, MD, Receives Certification as Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS)
Denville, NJ (February 15, 2019) – Saint Clare’s Health proudly announce that Aram E. Jawed, MD, FACS, has received certification as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and may now add the credentials FACS to his name. Fellowship in the American College of Surgeons indicate that a surgeon has passed a thorough evaluation of both professional competence and ethical fitness. Fellows are board certified surgeons and have committed themselves unequivocally to place the welfare of their patients above other consideration.
Aram Jawed, MD, FACS, is a general surgeon board certified by the American Board of Surgery, specializing in laparoscopic bariatric and robotic surgery. He is also certified by da Vinci® Surgical as a robotic surgeon. After successful completion of his general surgery training at Morristown Medical Center, Dr. Jawed received the Resident Achievement Award from the Society of Laparoscopic Surgeons. He also completed an additional year of minimally invasive, bariatric, and robotic surgical training as a Fellow at Innovation Health in Northern Virginia at a bariatric surgery center of excellence. Dr. Jawed has presented twice at the New Jersey chapter of American College of Surgeons for his technical innovation and surgical robotics and won the first place award for best research design in paper each time. As a member of the Society for Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), he has also presented at their national conference twice on advanced laparoscopic and bariatric surgical techniques.
