Alcohol Chemical Dependency Services (ACDS)

Alcohol and Chemical Dependency Services at Saint Clare's outpatient treatment programs meet each client's individual needs, allowing us to create a customized recovery plan. At Saint Clare’s we understand that each client is unique and treatment must be flexible to meet their distinct needs. Client care begins at initial assessment and is directed as a team effort between the client and our staff of licensed clinical alcohol and drug counselors (LCADC) and masters level clinicians. Our assessment allows us to identify the appropriate level of care for each client and match them with the program that best suits their needs. We offer ASAM level II.I Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and ASAM level I Standard Outpatient (OP) levels of care, with both levels having a specialized co-occurring track for clients with a substance abuse and non-acute mental health diagnosis.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

The IOP program is an excellent option for clients not requiring inpatient level of care or for those who have recently completed an inpatient treatment program. The IOP is a group based program that is held three days per week and has either morning or evening hours available. The groups are three hours in length and offer both educational information on substance use and coping skills as well as group therapy. Clients also will have an individual clinician assigned at intake and will meet weekly with this clinician for one on one counseling. For those clients with a mental health diagnosis, we have an APN on staff to provide psychiatric care and assessment.

Outpatient Program (OP)

The Outpatient program is typically a “step down” level of care for those clients who have completed the IOP program, however, some clients may be assessed as only requiring an OP level of care and may begin their treatment in this group if deemed clinically appropriate. This level of care is less intense and typically meets once weekly for group therapy and also weekly for individual counseling sessions and again is available in the morning and evening. There is also a distinct co-occurring track of the OP program which meets twice weekly for group therapy in order to provide more stability for both substance abuse and mental health treatment. The goal of the outpatient program is to help transition clients from a therapeutic setting to “living life on life’s terms” and allowing them to implement their recovery plan and coping skills in daily living while continuing to have therapeutic support.
